Your LBR Story | The Novak Family

Tell Us Your Linekin Bay Resort Story!

When a family of professional filmmakers visits Linekin Bay Resort, you know the home video they create is going to be good! This summer Luke and Christiana Brown of Light Cannon Films documented their family vacation with us in a stunning video you don’t want to miss. Watch the 4-minute film, then read their story below!

We first visited Linekin in 2009. That year, the weather was fairly cold and overcast, and all nine of us crammed into tiny Cabin 12 (before they made any updates, you could see the ferns through cracks in the bathroom floor – it was very “rustic”)! But we had a few good sails, made friends with some of the staff, and cherished every delicious meal so much that the following year we came back despite the rain. This time we stayed in the East Lodge, where the updated bedrooms gave us more room to stretch our legs. The sun came out and we were able to really see Boothbay for the gem it truly is.

Since then, we’ve been back seven times, and 2017 was the first time in a while that all of us – Mom and Dad, seven kids, two new in-laws, and a grandbaby (three generations) – were all able to take off the time and make the 15-hour trip from Wilmington, North Carolina. Some of our crew are on sailboats at every chance, some of us can be found reading on the Branch Deck, many of us enjoy long naps in our cabins. But our favorite part is that three times a day, we all gather together for incredible food and beautiful views of the bay, and talk about our adventures, misadventures, plans for the next day, and memories of past trips to LBR.

This year we made a home video of our vacation. We hope you enjoy it!
