The Boothbay Craft Brewery Story

Built in 2009, the Boothbay Craft Brewery has become a staple for locals and visitors alike. What started as a long-time dream became a reality for owners Lori and Win Mitchell when they reached out to the community for inspiration. As they built their brewery from the ground up using their own sawmill, the couple utilized donated materials from supporters. The Mitchells felt as if they owed Midcoast Maine a true public house — a place where everyone could come together and enjoy a great local brew and farm-to-table fare. Today, the brewery and tavern continue to serve Mainers honest food and drink, true to the owners’ original purpose.

Boothbay Craft Brewery Menu: What to Try and When to Try It

The brewery closes in December, after the annual Festival of Lights and Gardens Aglow events take place, and reopens each spring. When in season, this spot brews and serves four signature beers Thursday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Three IPAs and one Lager are reliable choices that are always on tap, but there are usually several other artisanal beers that cycle through, depending on the time of year. Boothbay Brewery’s popular Thirsty Botanist IPA is just one example!

The Watershed Tavern and RV Camp

The other half of the Mitchells’ business consists of the Watershed Tavern, a restaurant serving traditional bar bites, as well as basic RV campsites for incoming travelers. Boothbay’s Watershed Tavern is known for its wood-fired pizzas, local seafood options, burgers, and sandwiches. In addition, there are two RV campsites on the property with 30- and 50-amp electrical hookups.
