Your Guide to Visiting the East Boothbay General Store
As one of the Midcoast region’s oldest general stores, this local hotspot is a true hidden gem. It has stood in the heart of East Boothbay since 1898, and hasn’t changed much in appearance. For years, visitors and locals alike have gathered at the East Boothbay General Store for an eclectic mix of food, libations, Maine-themed gifts, and fellowship. The best part about this eatery is that it’s open all year long. That means you can enjoy breakfast or lunch anytime! Located at 255 Ocean Point Rd., this spot is just a nine-minute drive away from Linekin Bay Resort.
What to Eat
The East Boothbay General Store menu offers so many delicious options. However, first-timers should try the lobster roll before anything else. This quintessentially “Maine” sandwich is not served traditionally, but it’s worth the $18 it costs. The dish features ⅓ pound of fresh, local lobster and is accented with a touch of mayo, lemon zest, chives, and salad greens. It’s all cradled in a freshly baked French roll. Lobster rolls are only available seasonally, but there are plenty of other sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and unusual breakfast bites to choose from. Here, visitors can also find pastries, gelato, ice cream, and so much more.
