We still have people to this day saying how it was the most unique and fun wedding they had ever been to, and how they loved it so much that they’re planning family vacations there themselves!
We met during college in Connecticut, live in Boston, and love to escape to New Hampshire for skiing and Maine for lake days any chance that we can get. When it came time to looking for a wedding venue, it only felt right that we looked at places all throughout New England. Nothing really jumped out at us until we visited Boothbay Harbor. Downtown has the charm of Cape Cod, but the nature and feel of northern New England which made it so perfect for us. Our favorite part was that it felt like a hidden gem. No one we know had ever had a wedding there, and we loved the idea of making some place our own, instead of getting married in the same ballroom atmosphere that we’ve been to a million times. Even though it’s only a 3 hour drive from Boston, it felt like a mini destination wedding!
When we found Linekin Bay Resort, we knew right away it was the place for us. They are constantly updating their facilities so everything feels new and clean, while still being a charming coastal venue! We also loved the idea of coming back to stay in the future to celebrate an anniversary, or even to have a family vacation with our kids someday!
We knew we wanted a venue where everything happened right on site, and that all of our family and friends could stay together for a whole weekend. Everyone we know always told us, your wedding day goes by SO fast, you’ll blink and it’ll be over. While that still was true to an extent, we LOVED that we actually were able to have multiple days of mini events to make the wedding day bliss last a little longer than normal. We drove up on Thursday morning with our immediate family and had a cabin game night by the fireplace to relax and settle in. Our family stayed in East Lodge for the whole weekend which was amazing, as it offered a place to get ready in the morning for the girls, have people over each night, and be an overall home base for everyone! Friday, we had our rehearsal dinner and welcome party complete with a firepit, live music and s’mores! Saturday, we actually got married at Our Lady Queen of Peace, the church down the street right on the harbor, and took a boat back to Linekin Bay to celebrate the rest of the night on site with all of our family and friends. It was an absolute dream. The weather, the views, the food, the energy of all of our guests, made it truly perfect. That night felt like adult summer camp with everyone dancing in West Lodge, running around to mini after parties in people’s cabins, and staying up late in the stunningly peaceful nature. Sunday we had a send off breakfast which was perfect for saying goodbye to everyone and reminiscing on the day before. Our immediate family didn’t leave until Monday, which was so nice to just sit back on Sunday, kayak around the Bay and enjoy one last relaxing day!
We still have people to this day saying how it was the most unique and fun wedding they had ever been to, and how they loved it so much that they’re planning family vacations there themselves!
We cannot recommend Linekin Bay Resort enough. We had a rather large wedding with almost 170 guests and they were more than accommodating. The facilities, the staff, especially Melissa, who helped us navigate all things wedding planning and minimized our stress every step of the way, all made for an outstanding experience. We love you LBR!

We feel so incredibly lucky that we found LBR and couldn’t be more grateful for all that went into bringing the wedding celebration of our dreams to life.
We always knew that we wanted to get married on the coast of Maine and the most important factor was to find a venue where all of our favorite people in the world could spend the weekend and truly soak in the beauty of a place that is so near and dear to our hearts. Not only were we able to invite everyone to join us for the weekend, but we had exclusive use of the property. From the welcome party, to breakfasts, and all of the encounters in between, it was special to have so many interactions with our guests outside of the few hours dedicated to our wedding celebration. Having the house on property turned out to be more valuable than we initially realized, as it was the perfect place for family and friends to gather before and after the wedding and is the site of some of our favorite memories. The range of accommodations, from hotel rooms to cabins, were also beautiful and unique in their own way. Being nearly surrounded by water, every corner of the property is full of spectacular views and spaces to enjoy.
There’s a special place in our hearts for the staff at LBR. Wedding planning is full of so many emotions, questions, and considerations, but they made the entire process so enjoyable. We learned that choosing your perfect wedding venue is not only about the venue itself, but also the people who are part of bringing your day to life. Melissa, Director of Sales and Events, guided us through every step of the journey and became a dear friend in the process. Every question was answered with thought and nothing was considered impossible, which allowed us to make the weekend whatever we wanted it to be. The staff is full of wonderful people who we had the pleasure to get to know, as the beauty of Linekin is seeing so many familiar faces throughout the course of the weekend. The food was also fantastic – from breakfast to meals at The Deck Bar and Grill and our wedding cocktail hour & reception; everything exceeded our expectations.
We feel so incredibly lucky that we found LBR and couldn’t be more grateful for all that went into bringing the wedding celebration of our dreams to life.

We live in Ohio but quickly decided on having a destination wedding in Maine. We looked at a dozen different venues and absolutely fell in love with Linekin Bay Resort.
We live in Ohio but quickly decided on having a destination wedding in Maine. We looked at a dozen different venues and absolutely fell in love with Linekin Bay Resort. It is quintessential mid-cost Maine with simultaneously breathtaking seaside and woodland views, plenty of space, and a range of room types and accommodations.
We wanted our wedding to be uniquely personal, reflecting our hospitality, style, and tastes. There are truly a million details to decide when planning a wedding. With the help of Melissa from LBR and our event designer Maria Gossard, we were able to craft a unique wedding weekend celebration that was unlike any other.
We and our guests felt at home the moment we arrived. It was such a blessing to have the property to ourselves. Melissa and the staff at LBR were extremely accommodating. Weddings go by extremely fast for the couple. Thanks to having full control over the weekend timeline and all event aspects, we were able to extend and plan events such that we were able to have a few intimate moments to ourselves as well as spend a lot of time with our guests. We greeted them on Friday when they arrived and bid them farewell on Sunday when they left. In fact, multiple guests commented on how nice it was that we were able to spend so much time with everyone.
East Lodge is a perfect home-base for the wedding party. We were able to hosts guests at East Lodge after Friday and Saturday night festivities. Everyone truly felt at home. Guests with infants appreciated staying in the Main Lodge so they could slip back to their room as needed. Everyone was happy and well fed. Guests raved about LBR’s catering staff and food. We love that we were able to treat our guests to a one-of-a kind experience, from the delicious lobster welcome dinner, to over-the-top hors d’oeuvres served during cocktail hour (we still get comments about the seared tuna sandwiches!), delicious meal, and filling late-night bites.
It was a wonderful time and we are grateful for the excellent staff at LBR for helping us deliver the hospitality that we envisioned.

We live in Boston, Massachusetts but we both knew we wanted to get married in Boothbay Harbor, Maine as soon as we started to plan our wedding. We immediately fell in love with the relaxing vibe and beautiful coastal views throughout Linekin Bay Resort.
We live in Boston, Massachusetts but we both knew we wanted to get married in Boothbay Harbor, Maine as soon as we started to plan our wedding. We immediately fell in love with the relaxing vibe and beautiful coastal views throughout Linekin Bay Resort. Planning a wedding with a venue over 3 hours away from our house was stressful but Linekin Bay’s wedding coordinator, Melissa Nein, was a DREAM to work with.
Linekin Bay Resort was the perfect venue; a place where both of our families and friends could really come together. We had a Welcome BBQ Dinner at Linekin Bay for all of our guests staying on the resort the night before. It felt like the day of our wedding, everyone we invited mingled and became close. We had so many people come up to us and say they have never been to a wedding like ours (In a good way of course)! We really did have our dream wedding. The ocean, the resort activities, the delicious food, the rustic indoor feel, and the amazing staff…what more could you ask for? Everything about our wedding weekend was exactly what we had envisioned!

We knew from the moment we found Linekin Bay that it was the perfect wedding venue for us. So much so that we booked it even before Paige visited the venue! Everything about Linekin exceeded our expectations.
We knew from the moment we found Linekin Bay that it was the perfect wedding venue for us. So much so that we booked it even before Paige visited the venue! Everything about Linekin exceeded our expectations. Our favorite part about the venue is that it offers a unique experience where everything takes place on site over an entire weekend allowing for quality time with all of your guests. We were able to greet our guests when they arrived on Friday and wish them thanks and farewell when they left on Sunday.
Additionally, we decided to come up on Thursday, which allowed us to get settled and enjoy the resort for a day with just each other and our immediate family. We loved having a house to stay in that allowed us to be with our bridal party and offered a gathering place for our family and friends. Our guests really took advantage of all of the activities that the resort offers and many (including the groomsmen) spent the morning/afternoon before the ceremony on the bay or sitting poolside and others took a short drive to a nearby golf course to get a round in.
We cannot say enough great things about the staff at Linekin, especially Krista. Krista was there through every step of the planning process to offer advice and assistance. She helped coordinate with our vendors to make sure that everything went smoothly and helped us set up for the big day so that everything looked perfect.
Finally, the grounds at Linekin are absolutely beautiful and the views are breathtaking. The weather on our wedding day could not have been any more perfect and it really highlighted the beauty of the resort. Linekin perfectly captures the casual elegant atmosphere that we were looking for for our wedding day and we could not be happier with our choice to begin the rest of our lives there!

In terms of anecdotes, or reasons we chose Linekin Bay Resort, I think we would both say what sold us was the idea of a place where all of our people could come and stay for the whole weekend!
In terms of anecdotes, or reasons we chose Linekin Bay Resort, I think we would both say what sold us was the idea of a place where all of our people could come and stay for the whole weekend! We had a lot of family and friends come in from out of town and it was so magical to look around and see them all spending time together and interacting with each other. One of my favorite memories of the actual wedding day was looking out the window as I was getting all bridal, and seeing 6 of my cousins playing volleyball in the field outside the room. Also walking down to the pool the day before the wedding and seeing my friends, and family from both sides sharing beers and laughing together. It made the actual wedding that much more special because everyone had time to get to know each other.

Linekin Bay Resort was the second venue we toured, from the moment we stepped foot on the grounds, we knew this was the place we had been looking for. From the warmth of the staff, to the charming waterfront property, we couldn’t imagine our wedding day anywhere else.
Linekin Bay Resort was the second venue we toured, from the moment we stepped foot on the grounds, we knew this was the place we had been looking for. From the warmth of the staff, to the charming waterfront property, we couldn’t imagine our wedding day anywhere else. We had been looking for somewhere our families could enjoy a weekend together, rather than just a one day wedding celebration. Linekin Bay Resort provided just that – oceanfront rooms, rustic cabins, water sports,, heated outdoor pool, games, and even a place for us to bring our boats.
We arrived Friday morning with our boat and took advantage of an all-day boat ride. After a long day out on the water, we returned to our oceanfront rehearsal dinner. A traditional lobster bake picnic was set up and waiting for us on the front lawn. For the next two days, our families and friends enjoyed breakfast together in the morning and had free rein of Linekin Bay for the weekend.
On the day of our wedding, the staff, especially our wedding coordinator, Krista Bailey, made everything we had envisioned come to life. From coordinating vendors to setting up decor, everything was perfect. We cannot say enough about how much we loved our special day at Linekin Bay Resort and recommend this magical place!
